ROUND ROBIN TOURNAMENT RULES

    1. A round robin can be conducted in any game format - regular, dump, one-bid or reverse.

    2. Limited participation - the practical limit to a true round robin tournament is 16 players. Players will be determined by order of check-in. To avoid byes, tournaments will only be expanded in blocks of 4 players - the tournament will consist of 4, 8, 12 or 16 players only. All entrants should be ready, willing and able to play up to 66 hands. The number of hands per game/round and the number of rounds will be determined by the number of entrants and announced by the TD before the start of the tournament. The winner will be the player scoring the most points throughout the tournament. Withdrawals and disqualifications affect all other players in the current and subsequent rounds - please be considerate.

Unless otherwise specified by the TD, the following hand limits will apply:
A 4-player round robin will consist of 3 rounds. Regular game format will have no hand limits and be played as full games to 500 points. Dump and reverse formats will be played to 12 hands or 500 points, whichever occurs first.
An 8-player round robin will consist of 7 rounds with 8 hands per round with no points limit - 56 hands in all.
A 12-player round robin will consist of 11 rounds and either 4 hands per round (44 hands total) or 6 hands (66 hands total) with no points limit.
A 16-player round robin will consist of 15 rounds with 4 hands per round with no points limit - 60 hands in all.

    3. This single-elimination or True Swiss tournament will be used to award LadderBux. The total points list kept separately by the TD will determine the wins and losses posted for each player in the tournament. The number of games won or lost has no bearing on the determination of the outcome of the tournament. The top points scorer will win the tournament, the second-highest points scorer will be the runner-up, and the third- and fourth-highest points scorers will be the other semi-finalists. In a reverse format, the order of finishers will be reversed.

    4. Game-specific rules can be found on the appropriate pages from the referenced link.

    5. Teams or players withdrawing or disqualified from the tournament will receive 0 (zero) points per game for the remainder of the tournament and be excluded from any prize consideration. Teams or players scheduled to play against the withdrawn/disqualified teams or players will receive a tournament win and be awarded the average number of points per game scored against that team or player prior to withdrawal/disqualification.

    6. Most important, HAVE FUN, enjoy and good luck!!!
